Hot meals
About our Food Kitchen
Muntada Aid is running a food kitchen inside Gaza, where we provide cooked meals to thousands of people daily. The aim of the kitchen is to support communities with limited access to food and cooking facilities.

Food
Family Food Packs
Muntada Aid is providing 1,000 family food packs in the Strip each month, helping families with food supplies that will last them a few weeks. In Gaza, at least 1.6 million people need food assistance.
Where your money goes
What is inside our family food pack?
The aim of our Gaza Food Pack is to provide a family with enough provisions that will last them at least a month, providing daily food and nutrition requirements. Our food packs aim to provide both macronutrients (such as fat and protein) and micronutrients (such as vitamins) in line with common international standards.
A typical family food pack contains cereals (rice, wheat, maize, sorghum or millet). Pulses include lentils, cowpeas, beans and yellow split peas.
Where possible, we aim to source food from local suppliers.

Donate to help us provide emergency aid inside Gaza
The collapse of the ceasefire on March 18th has had a catastrophic impact on children and families throughout Gaza and the wider State of Palestine. The devastation on children is profound. With aid being heavily restricted, Gaza is now on the brink of famine. Time is running out. The blockade on aid must be removed completely.
Widespread hunger has led to rising levels of malnutrition, including acute malnutrition: a condition where children become dangerously thin and prone to disease due to a lack of adequate food.

Access
Is aid getting into Gaza?
It is over 3 months since the Rafah border was closed for humanitarian aid. It was a critical route to transport into Gaza.
Since October 2023, when the war broke out, the Rafah border has remained one of the main crossings. The closure of this crucial route is not just exacerbating, but significantly worsening an already dire situation. Only a tiny portion of aid is reaching Gaza, leaving the Muntada Aid team in Gaza delivering lifesaving aid with much-reduced resources.
Land-based delivery through the south of Gaza remains the most effective way to deliver aid. These roads are the main arteries for aid delivery and so have the most significant capacity.

Food insecurity
Is there famine in Gaza?
A high risk of Famine persists across the whole Gaza Strip as long as conflict continues and humanitarian access is restricted.
About 96 percent of the population in the Gaza Strip (2.15M people) face high levels of acute food insecurity through September 2024.
While the whole territory is classified in Emergency (IPC Phase 4), over 495,000 people (22 percent of the population) are still facing catastrophic levels of acute food insecurity (IPC Phase 5). In this phase, households experience an extreme lack of food, starvation, and exhaustion of coping capacities.
745,000 people (33 percent) are classified in Emergency (IPC Phase 4).

Health
State of health services in Gaza
The healthcare system in Gaza has all but collapsed. Most hospitals have closed due to damage, insecurity or a lack of fuel and supplies, and health workers face unimaginable challenges. Since hostilities escalated, hundreds of medical and humanitarian workers have lost their lives trying to deliver care.

Shelter
Homelessness in Gaza
A million people have been forced to flee Rafah since the start of May, displaced up to six times. There is nowhere safe to go. Families live in makeshift tents beside waste and sewage, with just one square metre of space per person — and with over half of shelters soaked by rain, infectious diseases are spreading rapidly.

How to help people in Gaza
The best way to help people in Gaza is by donating to our emergency appeal.
Muntada Aid team is working with various communities in Gaza supporting people affected by the war and for many years before that.

Your donation
Where will your money go?
Donations to the Gaza appeal provide food, emergency aid and trauma support — and nothing else. We are not using contributions for any other appeal. We serve people in Gaza through our partners on the ground, and we will continue for as long as possible.
